Swaad Indian Cuisine in San Jose

Came here on a fluke... had the vegetarian dinner and got free dessert! Must come again!!

I placed a to go order last night worth of $100+. Unfortunately, the food was very poorly and unprofessionally packed. Multiple containers were not sealed all the way so it oil spilt everywhere. Also, one of the chutneys popped open and that was EVERYWHERE. The Naans were all burnt. All the items were mainly sauce and a few pieces of meat. The spicy level off. Food was so bland. Lastly, we ended up with a mystery item we didn’t order. We err very excited for our meal, but it was very disappointing after this we won’t be returning.

Great and authentic food. Great service. Clean place. A trusted choice - it has served us well on multiple trips spread over the past few years. On a recent visit we tried their delectable soups, pakodas, tandoori dishes - tikkas, assorted naans etc. Our guests - visiting from India - found the cuisine to their liking too.

The place offers a vast range of fresh food. I enjoy dining here. The employees are always super nice, prices are affordable and the spot is always clean.

Excellent food, quick service, decent prices. Had chicken Biryani , chicken Korma and naan. Meat is halal. Have high chair for children.

Terrific food, good service, reasonable prices. Seating is a bit limited, so larger parties should make reservations. Best Indian cuisine in the south bay.

I go to this lovely spot often! This is my favorite spot to pass a nice evening. I go to this spot at least once a month. The cooking is very good, the staff is polite and the charge is good. I enjoy eating in this restaurant for a good supper.

This restaurant offers first-rate service as well as enjoyable food. One of the best spot ever. The meals came out fast and the prices are inexpensive. I recommend this place.

Unbelievable lunch Sward Indian Cuisine for $10.95 w plenty of variety for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. I decided to go the veg route and dined liked a beast.The Sward Indian Cuisine was so friendly, my only suggestion would be to cook the naan a little longer, a bit doughy for my tastes

First time. I called to place an order and was told they are in middle of something so I go and check online what this place is serving. Clearly, you need better skills talking to customers. I can imagine the quality of service now at this place. Also, don’t mis-represent Indian hospitality.

In town on business, decided to try a new Indian place. Had the chicken Korma and saag paneer. The service was excellent and the dishes were super tasty. They use organic chicken and there was just the right amount of spice. Garlic naan was flavorful crispy and light. Will be craving this place now. There is no Indian food in San Diego like this.

Ordered in and the combo tikka salaam , loo gobi , and pane er. It was so good but i should've gotten it spicier .

I struggled giving 5 stars because I don't want anyone else to know about this place but I owe it to them to give them a truthful review. The tikka masala is deadly delicious (I could drink it) and everything is amazing. I wish the vindaloo sometimes could be spicier but I'm just being picky. I'm proud they're part of Northside.

It is an unexpected place for a very delicious Indian food. It is time to say goodbye to two of my favorite places: Amber, and Kabob and Curry. Swaad is like a mom and pop place with authentic Indian food. I had a veggie Samosa as an appetizer and it was so delicious. We ordered a chicken tikka masala, dahl, paneer tikka masala, and tandoori chicken. I was overwhelmed by the flavors and spices. It gave me a good kick in the mouth of a real authentic Indian food. Thanks Swaad for serving us amazing dishes. We can't wait to come back to try other dishes. On the way home my family talked how amazing the food was and when are we coming back there. Also we need to invite friends to check out this place. Five stars for the foods and five stars for the super friendly waitress who served our table well and has a very good memory.

Stumbled upon it while driving through San Jose. Awesome food and you can Taste the veggies unlike other places where u taste only cream or spices. Chicken platter was one of the best in Bay Area. I almost gave it a skip as the location and ambience was not so appealing. But the cook is great and cooks the food fresh as per your taste buds.

The food was okay, subpar unfortunately. Covid-19 may be to blame but the Naan bread was on point. Chicken was good and rice was okay, bit dry for my taste buds.

Very clean and accessible restaurant. They provide big meals and for affordable rates. We enjoyed the meals very much and the staff were very personal and chatty. I recommend this place.

This place is my number one place. Of all restaurants I know I like it most. I never miss an opportunity to go to visit this restaurant. everytime I I need a fair lunchon, this place comes instantly to my mind. superb and all sorts of food and a large list of dishes.trained staff, and great ambience. Also, the expence is reasonable. I praise this place with pleasure.

My brothers in law and I recently went to this restaurant, mainly because we were nearby. OMG I am so happy that I looked at Trip Advisor. Of course this restaurant doesn't have the swag of fine-dining, but it doesn't need that, because every dish we had was simply amazing! Garlic naan, chicken tikka masala are honestly the best I have ever had anywhere in the world. The mango lassi I had was spectacular! Unfortunately it was towards the end of our trip so that there was not enough time to come here again. We will return in summer!!! There are cheaper places in the Bay Area to eat Indian food, but I challenge you to find a better one...

They completely understand how mild spicy should be! High quality indian food suitable even for non indian customers in a cozy place!

Hadn't tried this place before even though I live a few blocks away. I am very disappointed that I didn't try them earlier! We had fantastic service and fantastic food. I still crave some of the dishes we ate there over a month ago.

Good food.If you like North Indian style food, it's a great place not very far from downtown. Restaurant is small but feels like a fine diner. Staffs were nice and friendly. Looks like they serve wine and beer too.

Loved to be here as always. Food is mouthwatering. Especially mixed platter today is too good.

One of the best Indian food I've had in a long time. The food is very authentic. I definitely recommend this place and I definitely will be going back.

Malai kofta was good. My hubby claimed bhindi was little tasteless. If you do not want straw, you need to tell that while making your order. The waitress has an excellent memory, just amazing 😊

This is a small indian restaurant with limited seating outside as well , located near Downtown San Jose. The area is opposite a park , but might give you the creeps. Once you are in, food usually tastes good. I love the chai, malai kofta and the pakora. Its also a busy take out place. Food arrives fast. Parking is limited in the restaurant parking lot. But you can find parking outside the restaurant.

My favorite place for Indian food in the bay area. The Tikka Masala is to doe for, especially the lamb. The staff is friendly and welcoming. Small parking lot, but plenty of public parking around the park nearby.

Awesome Indian food but decent siting arrangement. Ask for extra spicy if you are looking for authentic Indian taste ;)

Swaad Indian place is like a neighborhood place where the locals go. I am glad we got there early- you always know how good the place is by the line of people waiting to get in.We were seated quickly and had a nice table. The service was quick and easy, the food was steaming 👍I loved that. All dishes were fresh and spicy, 5 different dishes of lamb, vege entrees- plenty to choose from, excellent seafood, so you really have plenty to try. In my opinion some dishes were a little bit blend but maybe it was me . The variety of the dishes were excellent . The place is very busy so you almost feel like u need to eat and go- more people are waiting. Because of that I am giving 4 stars, still good but not perfect. I like to relax when i eat at the restaurant , it was too much rush and too much noise.

Everything at Swaad is tasty. The most surprising and delicious was the chicken samosas. It's not greasy or over fried. You can't go wrong with these: chicken tikka masala, garlic chicken tandoori, garlic naan, lamb biryani, and vegetable korma. The service is great. It's a small restaurant with an elegant environment.

SWAAD - This place is really fantastic :The food is very high quality and super delicious, Good atmosphere and nice food, naan's are really smooth and Chicken Tikka masala is ultimate - Pretty much impressed with super service simply I can say outstanding.. Prices are very reasonable. Will definitely try again.

THE most attentive staff I have seen anywhere. Great fresh tasty food. High quality food and service in a cozy game-like setting. Hands down a favorite but prices can add up, this is not a complaint due to the prices being worth it for such a great experience. Definitely a returning customer.

Went to celebrate my sister's birthday and was completely blown away by the high quality service and excellent food. I definitely recommend Swaad to anyone in the San Jose area.

Great food! Not the cheapest but the cozy setting and good service make up for that. Portion sizes are decently large too. I will definitely be back. Pictures: paneer pakora, okra lamb, and veg korma.

Excellent place to taste Northern Indian cuisine. Fast service, yummy tasty not so spicy meal. Good portion for 2 of us. Reasonable price. We had ordered vegetable pilaf, Indian salad, yummy creamy Malai Kofta, a Roti and a Chai. All of this cost us 33$. We were on a trip to San Francisco so this place worked out well.

Customer service was amazing. I called right after placing a DoorDash order and asked for a change to my order. I also asked if there was any way to rush it because it was my fiancé’s birthday and she was very accommodating and sweet. Thanks Connie!

I celebrated my nomination today in this great restaurant. happy to tell that we had a fine evening and the venue was clearly one of the reasons for the strong celebration. The crew collaborated in a graceful way, the cuisine was delicious and my guests were so pleased. We shall absolutely visit again for more joyful events. thanks very much.

Absolutely delicious!! The chicken tikka masala is to die for. So creamy and flavorful. The chicken samosas are also wonderful. Make sure you get the naan! The plain butter or garlic goes GREAT with the tikka masala. Definitely recommend.

One of the best Indian restaurant around, Tikka Masala sauce is from another world! Will return for sure.

Very fresh and tasty and very fast. Our waitress was very attentive and brought food out immediately as each item was prepared. Lots of extra little touches here that were appreciated. The mango lassis are nice and sweet and very mangoey. This place is small but everyone who walked in during our stay was seated and waited on immediately. I would recommend this and eat here again.

The menu and service were beyond our expectations. I really liked the vibes of this spot. Wonderful spot to take the family out for lunch.

I like Swaad because the food is really good, and they are also able to make dishes mild enough for me. They are also happy to leave off the cilantro if I ask. The people who run the restaurant are really nice.

Delicious and Exquisitely Indian cuisine! This is my 3rd time and my family love it. Every thing is fresh, spicy balance. The atmosphere is vividly and very clean. The waitress are very friendly and attentive.I have visited three other venues but Swaad Indian Food is my favorite💕
